Bihar Vidhansabha Chunav Results 2020 live updates: The two Chief Ministerial faces, Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav have sweated it out on the ground holding rallies and wooing voters. They also sledged each other, Nitish Kumar's JD(U) calling Tejashwi Yadav' 9th fail' and Tejashwi Yadav's RJD calling Nitish' palturam'.

Despite huge anti-incumbency, Nitish (31%) lead the race for best suited to be Chief Minister ahead of Tejashwi (27%). Research shows that the party whose candidate leads the popularity ratings typically goes on to win the elections.

The double engine growth story seems to be working on the ground according to the trends available. After four hours of counting, NDA leads on 129 seats, while MGB is lagging at around 100 seats.

Kumar's fortunes are getting a leg up from Modi's popularity. 61% of respondents are satisfied with Modi's performance versus 52% for Nitish.

The traditional vote blocks of JD(U) are upper caste, non-Yadav OBC. Most backward castes and mahadalits are more or less still intact for Nitish.

Nitish Kumar's prohibition policy is still a hit with women voters. 41% of the women voters suggested that they vote for the NDA, while 36% of the men.  Like last elections, this time too, women voters have overtaken men voters, with 57% turnout.
