According to allegations by the victim’s family members, her husband lost his cool after the victim refused to arrange money for him from her father. In a fit of rage, he reportedly threw their 2-year-old daughter on the floor and divorced her saying talaq thrice.
Amir Shaikh, cousin of the victim alleged that there was some misunderstanding while registering the complaint. He said: “He divorced her, it was not threatening. My sister was divorced by her husband in front of her father and then he left the house. We are waiting for the police to take action against him."
1. What was in the FIR?

The incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 11 am in Karanj area of Ahmedabad city. The complaint has lodged the victim Sanabanu Shaikh, a resident of Karanj with the Karanj Police station on Tuesday.
Sana got married to Mehboob Hussain, a resident of Karanj in the year 2015 and they had two daughters.
As per her allegation one year after their marriage, she gave birth to a girl and her husband started harassing her for not giving birth to a boy. Regarding the matter, even her sister-in-law and brother-in-law started mentally and physically harassing.
2. Punished for giving birth to girls

The matter even got worse in the house for Sana, when she gave birth to another girl. Living in the house became terrible for Sana when her husband started verbally and physically abusing her.
As per the complaint three months back, her father bought a house for the couple, where down payment was paid by him and EMI was supposed to be paid by Mehboob. On Tuesday, when Mehboob was not able to pay the EMI amount, he asked Sana to get money from her father.
3. Fight between husband and father-in-law

When Sana refused to do so, Mehboob took her and daughters to his in-laws to get the money. During which a fight broke out between Sana's father and Mehboob after he threw his 2-year-old daughter on the floor. After the incident, he threatened to give divorce to Sana and left the house.
Later, Sana went inside the bathroom, poured some kerosene on herself and tried to drink poison. Fortunately, her mother saw it and stopped her. She was rushed the SVP Hospital for treatment.
4. No misunderstanding

F.M Nayab, Inspector of Karanj police station said, "We had registered the complaint as per the victim's statement, there is no misunderstanding from our part.
But even if the victims wanted to add a further statement in her complaint, we will add it. While registering a complaint she had lodged a case against four people under IPC sector 323,114, 498A and had stated that her husband had threatened to give divorce."
