1. Calls it propaganda
In a video that has gone viral he said, “Yeh inka basic issue tha ki mere passport ke baare mein unhone bola tha ki byte nikalenge aapke passport ke baare mein lekin jab maine unka aaj subah article padha to usmein clearly different cheezein thi. Maine simply… mera propaganda ek hi tha ki agar mere paas Aadhaar card hai, toh why can’t I have a passport? Yehi mere liye propaganda tha.”
2. How can I be a proud Indian asks, Ghalib Guru
He added: “Unko maine is liye bola tha ki for example is saal mera NEET ka second try hai… agar nahin hota, toh Turkey mujhe scholarship deti hai isiliye maine unko bola tha ki mera passport hona chahiye. Lekin unhone clearly different likha hai iske baare mein. Unhone thodi ajeeb cheezein bhi likhi hai. Mix up kiya hai ki main Indian citizen proud hoon. Ek cheez mein bolna chahta hoon ki How can I be a proud Indian citizen. Unhone mere papa ko maara hai. They have done injustice with my whole family. They have done injustice with whole Kashmir. Toh main kaise proud kar sakta hoon India ka? Mera yehi propaganda tha ki jab mere paas Aadhaar card hai to passport kyun nahin ho saka.”
3. Ghalib was 2 when his father was arrested
In January last year, Ghalib made headlines when he cleared Higher Secondary School examination from Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) with a distinction, securing 88 per cent. He scored 441 out of 500 marks.
His father was hanged on February 9, 2013 for his role in the attack on Parliament in December 2001. Ghalib was just about two years old when his father was arrested in 2002.
Since Afzal Guru's hanging, JeM, a Pakistan-based terror outfit which attacked Parliament, has been carrying out terror strikes in his name, including the latest one in Pulwama.
4. Applied in 2012, still hasn't got it
However, keeping away from this, Ghalib has been pursuing studies to fulfill his father's dream that he becomes a doctor.
Ghalib knows that without a passport, his dream to fulfill medical studies abroad on an international scholarship is a chimera.
He applied for the passport in 2012 but is yet to receive it.
"I applied for the passport in 2012. I went to the passport office and the court. But they are not giving the reason as to why they are not giving me passport. I need a passport as I dropped one year for NEET," he said.
