UP Board School Reopening 2020: Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases, classes 6 to 8 of Uttar Pradesh Board schools may not resume classes on December 15 as proposed earlier. The principals of UP Board schools, in a report to the Board Secretary, have said that the attendance in classes 9-12, which re-opened earlier, have been meager and therefore the junior classes shouldn’t resume.

The Secretary of the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh, Divyakant Shukla had issued a letter to all the DIOS of the state on November 254 and asked for feedback in this regard.

The principals of the schools have said that since the Corona caseload is increasing rapidly, it is not feasible to open schools in this situation.

The district schools reopened for classes 9-12 according to the Unlock 5 guidelines, however, not many students physically attended school.

At least 70 per cent of the school heads opined that physical classes should not be resumed for classes 6-8 from December 15. This information has been sent by the DIOS to the Secretary of the Secondary Education Council.
