Delhi weather: National Capital wakes up to misty morning, minimum temperature to hover around 8 degrees

The minimum temperature in Delhi will continue to remain below the 10 degree-mark on Monday as well at 8 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will be 25 degrees Celsius.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital will experience a foggy/misty morning and partly clear sky later in the day.

The air quality index was in the ‘poor’ category in the Lodhi Road area in the morning at 203.

An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.

On Sunday (November 22), Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degree Celsius, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. This is the lowest temperature recorded in the capital since 2006, according to weather expert Mahesh Palawat, Vice President of private weather agency Skymet Weather.

For the plains, the IMD declares a cold wave when the minimum temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or below and is 4.5 notches less than normal for two consecutive days. The minimum temperature will rise by two to three degrees Celsius in the next four to five days under the influence of a fresh western disturbance.
