The Delhi Metro resumed normal services on Thursday evening from 5 pm onwards even as it announced restrictions for Friday.

Delhi Metro services from neighbouring cities to the national capital will remain suspended in view of the 'Delhi Chalo' farmers' protest against the Centre's new farm laws, officials said on Thursday.

However, metro services will be available from Delhi towards the NCR sections, they said.

Taking to Twitter, the DMRC said, "From 2 pm onwards Metro services are available from Delhi towards the NCR sections. However, services from NCR sections to Delhi still continue to remain suspended due to security reasons till further notice."

The DMRC had restricted Delhi Metro services to and from the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday till 2 pm in view of the November 26-28 farmers' rally.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, in a tweet earlier on Wednesday, had said that it was being done due to the farmers' march at the request of the police to avoid overcrowding.

Delhi Police personnel have been deployed in large numbers in the border areas of the national capital and all incoming vehicles were being checked in view of the protest.
