Union home minister P Chidambaram has sparked a controversy with his comment that Delhi’s migrants are responsible for the rising crime in the capital.

Chidambaram said these migrants living in unauthorised settlements are difficult to monitor and they bring a "certain behaviour" that is unacceptable in a modern city, which results in a rise in crime.
