People instigating innocent children to disrupt peace in Kashmir will have to answer them: Modi on Mann Ki Baat

Remembering the contributions of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said India's daughters too have made the nation proud at the just concluded summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation through his monthly programme 'Mann Ki Baat' on All India Radio and said that those pushing youth towards stone pelting in Kashmir willsome day have to answer them.

Addressing nation, Modi said, "'Ekta' (unity) and 'Mamata' (affection) was the crux of all interactions I had recently on Kashmir situation. Any life lost in Kashmir, whether of any youth or any security personnel, is our own loss."

"Those pushing youth towards stone pelting in Kashmir will some day have to answer them," Prime Minister added.

Curfew continued in some parts of Srinagar and two towns in south Kashmir, while restrictions on the assembly of people were in force in the rest of the Valley where normal life remained paralysed for the 51st consecutive day.

PM Modi also praises PV Sindhu, Sakshi Malik, Deepa Karmakar, Lalita Babar Abhinav Bindra, Vikas Krishan Yadav and Indian men and women hockey team for Rio Olympics performance. "We won Rio Olympics medals, our daughters proved themselves once again, that they are not less than anyone." he said.

Stating that we have to go a long way when it comes to focusing on Sports, he said, "Sports needs motivation and public is the best entity to do it. It is very good to know that our nation wants us to focus on extracurricular activities."

During his 45 minutes address, Modi also spoke on various subjects including, Teachers Day, Clean Ganga, Ganesh Utsav, and Mother Teresa's canonisation as saint.
