Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday paid homage to the Border Security Force (BSF) plane crash victims who died on Tuesday.

Ten people were killed when a small Ranchi-bound BSF Superking aircraft with two pilots and eight technicians on board crashed near Dwarka in Delhi shortly after take-off.

With ten of its most experienced men being killed in a tragic crash,  the elite BSF air wing is staring at one of its biggest losses and a vacuum created in its ranks raised exclusively for air support roles for troops deployed to ensure the internal security of the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had yesterday also expressed grief and distress at the loss of lives in the plane crash in the national capital.

"Pained by the loss of lives in the BSF plane crash in Delhi. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased," Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet.
