Government, Congress spar over Leader of Opposition (LoP) issue in Lok SabhaThe government cried foul against the opposition Congress party, for casting aspersions against the Speaker over the contentious issue of Leader of Opposition (LoP) post in the Lok Sabha. Furore in Parliament over judicial appointmentsAmid furore created by All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) members in Parliament for the second day running, Government on Tuesday admitted that a Supreme Court collegium during the UPA rule had recommended extension of a judge in Tamil Nadu who was under corruption cloud. "Name the DMK Minister at the Centre," shouted agitated AIADMK members who stormed the Well of the Lok Sabha as they were not satisfied with the response given by Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, forcing two adjournments of the House. Read more
