Transcripts of Moin Qureshi's Blackberry messages with Hyderabad-based business Sana Satish Babu reveal deep insights into transfer and postings of CBI officers. Babu is the businessman who owns the Playboy Club in Hyderabad.
Qureshi was talking with the Playboy Club owner via BBM while watching the ICC Champions Trophy match between India and Pakistan at Edgbaston on June 15, 2013.
In a series of BBM messages received on June 15, 2013 Qureshi discusses with Sana about the appointment of a new Joint Director of the CBI at Hyderabad in place of V V Lakshminarayana. Lakshminarayana had investigated a host of high profile corruption cases including that of Jaganmohan Reddy.
Sitting in the stadium at Edgbaston Qureshi messages the Playboy club owner 'You be careful. A new guy is coming'. Sana replies saying, 'Why should I be worried with you around?'
The two men then talk about Lakshminarayan's replacement S Arunachalam who was posted from the CBI's Chennai division on June 12, 2013. Sana plays down the new appointment by messaging, "This new guy has additional charge only. One more permanent guy will come next month." That is when Qureshi spills inside information saying, "Yes from Orissa my friend. His CVC clearance is being done". Qureshi further reveals about the new CBI officer who would be replacing Lakhminarayana in his BBM, "This person is from Bihar but&n bsp;Orissa cadre".
In yet another string of transcriptions, Moin Qureshi is seen conversing with businessman Pankaj Shah about gaming the Indian banking system. Qureshi is seen assuring Shah of access to SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya, then Revenue Secretary Sumit Bose, EXIM Bank Chairman Yadhuvendra Mathur and Banking Secretary Rajiv Takru. Qureshi was planning to use these big names to launder his 'black millions' abroad.Shah tells Qureshi to set up the above mentioned people. Shah's BBM to Qureshi reads, 'I will personally get involved'. Qureshi replies,'OK will do' Qureshi replies, 'Ok done you tell me. Revenue Secretary Sumit Bose Dosco' in a refernce to Bose's alma mater Doon School, Dehradun. Sha replies'PLease set EXIM Bank Chairman'. Qureshi replies, 'You just guide. I will do whatever you want in India'. Shah replies,'And Chairman SBI. Brother two more people to develop. Secretary Banking,. Qureshi replies 'Yes Sir'.
