Justice League director Zack Snyder finally confirmed that when Ben Affleck's Batman talked about something darker, he was referencing to potential arrival of DC villain Darkseid.

DC comic book fans know that Darkseid has a long history with Justice League. When Snyder took charge of DC Extended Universe with Man of Steel, they were hoping to see an epic war between Earth and Apokolips. They had fingers crossed for Darkseid's appearance in Justice League sequel.

But since there seems to be no certain plan in place to continue with the sequel, especially with Snyder and Henry Cavill out, this little revelation from the director will cause more pain to the fandom than give them any answers.

Reddit account DC_Cinematic's thread shows Snyder confirming the reference on his Vero account.

This revelation will come as a boost to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut for Justice League, but given the current and near future projects in work in DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros is unlikely to pay any attention to these demands.
