'Three days before our wedding, we got married,' Meghan's striking revelation on Oprah Winfrey's show

Meghan Markle in a striking revelation said that Prince Harry and she had secretly got married three days before their televised royal wedding in 2018.

 

In the CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan revealed that they held a private ceremony as they wanted the ‘union between them (Harry and her)’. 

 

"Three days before our wedding, we got married," she said, revealing that they swapped vows in private before Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welsby ahead of the televised spectacle on May 19, 2018 at Britain's Windsor Castle.

 

Over much fanfare, Prince Harry and Meghan’s wedding ceremony took place at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle and was viewed by 29 million viewers. 

 

"No one knows that. But we called the archbishop, and we just said, 'Look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us,” Meghan told Oprah.  

 

Talking about her wedding day, Meghan said, “"It was like having an out-of-body experience ... I think we were both really aware, even in advance of that, this wasn't our day, this was the day that was planned for the world.” 

 

"I will say I went into it naively because I didn't grow up knowing much about the royal family,” Meghan talked about marrying into the royal family.

 

Meghan and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey has grabbed eyeballs worldwide. During the interview, the Suits actor made many revelations including the racism she faced in the royal family, contemplating suicide, feud with Kate Middleton and more.
