After Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Phillips, producer Bradley Cooper couldn't contain his excitement over the Oscar nominations for 'Joker'
Joker producer Bradley Cooper is the latest to express how does he feel about his movie receiving the highest number of nominations in the much-honoured awards show, Oscars. Honoured to be part of Joker, Bradley stated that he is incredibly thrilled for Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix and others.
“I'm so incredibly thrilled for Todd Phillips, Scott Silver, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Lawrence Sher, Mark Bridges, Jeff Groth, Nicki Ledermann, and Kay Georgiou, Alan Robert Murray, Tom Ozanich, Dean Zupancic and Tod Maitland. Thank you to the Academy for recognizing their talent and contribution. Todd Phillips is a visionary and I couldn't be happier for him. I'm truly honored to be a part of Joker,” Bradley said.
On Monday, the 92nd Academy Awards (Oscars 2020) nominations were announced and much like expected, Todd Philips' directorial Joker, based on the character from DC comics received nominations in most of the categories. The film starring Joaquin Phoenix in the titular role was helmed by Todd Phillips. Joaquin, who was awarded at the Golden Globes 2020, also received a nomination in Best Actor. Joker has 11 nominations in total, them being - Best Picture, Directing, Leading Actor, Cinematography, Adapted Screenplay, Costume Design, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Original Score, Film Editing, Make-up and Hairstyling.
Talking about the same, Todd had stated, "I am deeply honoured by the overwhelming recognition of the Academy this morning, and I want to thank the genius that is Joaquin Phoenix and all my incredible collaborators." Meanwhile, Joaquin stated, "I feel honoured and humbled to have been nominated by my fellow actors. The Academy’s encouragement helped ignite and sustain my career and I am incredibly grateful for that support."
