Trailers are passé, Aquaman released a five-minute long extended look into the superhero movie on Friday.

Is this weekend made? We think so!

The new superhero movie from Warner Bros-DC Extended Universe is set to release on December 21. New footage from the movie debuted after the first trailer was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

The extended footage shows how Arthur Curry, played by Jason Momoa, and Meera, played by Amber Heard, find the whereabouts of the trident that will make Arthur the hero Atlantis needs.

The lighter moments between this lead pair show that Aquaman will be brighter than whatever we were served with Zack Snyder's movies. This brightness is also extended into breathtaking cinematography and beautiful CGI/VFX work.

The extended look gives us detailed looks at Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta, Patrick Wilson and Dolph Lundgren's unholy alliance, and Nicole Kidman showing off her battle skills with spears.

'What can be better than a king?" asks Arthur. We get the answer when the trailer ends with a brand new twist to the comic book avatar of Aquaman.

This will be Warner Bros' entry into a busy holiday season. Disney is bringing Mary Poppins Returns and Paramount Pictures has Bumblebee coming out.
