Matthew McConaughey opens up about being molested by man at 18

Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey has come out with his memoir called Greenlights which exposes some horrific incidents the actor went through. In his memoir, Matthew explained how he was blackmailed into physical activity at the age of 15, and later even faced assault at the age of 18.

He shared that the first time he involved in the physical activity, it was not consensual, but rather a blackmail. “I was blackmailed into having sex for the first time when I was 15. I was certain I was going to hell for the premarital sex. Today, I am merely certain that I hope that’s not the case,” an excerpt from his memoir read.

Matthew also recalled how he was knocked unconscious and molested by a man when he had turned 18. “I was molested by a man when I was 18 while knocked unconscious in the back of a van,” he wrote in the book.

While McConaughey highlighted the events in his memoir, he also explained to never feeling like a victim. Instead, the actor said it made him look at the positive side of life. “I have a lot of proof that the world is conspiring to make me happy,” he wrote in the book.

Apart from the two incidents, Matthew also opened up about his marriage to Camila Alves, the unstable equation between his parents and more.
