Mark Greaney reveals details about Dhanush's role in Russo brothers' 'The Gray Man'

It was confirmed back in December 2020 that Dhanush is going to star in the Russo brothers' upcoming spy film on Netflix titled 'The Gray Man'. The film reportedly is the most expensive Netflix original ever produced and apart from Dhanush, also casts Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, and Ana de Armas in the lead roles. 'The Gray Man' will be based on Mark Greaney's novel by the same name.

Now, during a recent interaction with 'The Crew Reviews', wherein Greaney spoke about his upcoming book, 'Relentless', also talked about the Hollywood adaptation of 'The Gray Man' and even guessed Dhanush's apparent role in the movie.

Greaney admitted that he was not familiar with Dhanush's work before he was brought on board the project. In a small but significant detail, Greaney teased that Dhanush could play one of the antagonists in the movie.

He said, "It is fascinating to me that they cast an Indian actor Dhanush, whom I am not familiar with. I assume he plays one of the heads of the kill team that is after Court Gentry (played by Gosling)." 

The international author also recalled his first reaction to Dhanush's social media following. He said, "I have some 6000 followers on Twitter and it is nothing special. Then Dhanush followed me on Twitter, the Indian actor who is going to be in The Gray Man. I was like wow he is following me and he has some 9.7 million followers. He is a very big deal." 

For the uninformed, Dhanush made his international debut in 'The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir' that released in 2019. Speaking about The Gray Man, the film is based is reportedly budgeted at $200 million (nearly Rs 1500 crore).
