Isabelle Fuhrman to reprise her role as 'Esther' in 2009 horror film 'Orphan' prequel

Remember Esther? Well, she is making a comeback after 11 long years as makers of the 2009 film Orphan have announced an Orphan prequel. 

Actor Isabelle Fuhrman who spooked one and all with her frightening role in the 2009 film Orphan is set to lead the prequel to the film. 

Orphan was a huge hit when it first released and revolved around Esther, played by Isabelle, an Eastern European child adopted by parents (played by Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga) overcoming an unimaginable loss of their own. 

In the 2009 film, Esther played a grown-up adult in the body of a child as she dealt with primordial dwarfism. Frolicking as a nine-year-old, she made all efforts to split up her parents and eliminate her siblings. 

It earned $80 million worldwide on a reported $20 million budget, Variety reported.

The plot of the prequel is not yet revealed and is still under wraps, however, one thing is clear that Isabelle Fuhrman will return not only as a star of the movie but also as an associate producer of the project. 

The prequel will be directed by William Brent Bell from a script by David Coggeshall. Dark Castle’s Alex Mace, Hal Sadoff, and Ethan Erwin are producing with James Tomlinson. The original film's screenwriter, David Leslie Johnson, will serve as an executive producer with Jen Gorton. Josie Liang will oversee the movie for Entertainment One.

On the work front, Fuhrman’s additional credits include The Hunger Games and the acclaimed Showtime series Masters of Sex. Isabelle will also be seen in Escape Room 2 from Sony Pictures which is all set to release in January 2021.
