‘House of the Dragon’: Cracking first teaser of 'Game of Thrones' prequel dives deeper into the Targaryen lineage

On Tuesday, HBO Max released the first trailer for ‘House of the Dragon’, a spin-off of the hit fantasy series ‘Game of Thrones’ based on George R. R. Martin's books. The series is set "200 years before the fall of the throne," according to WarnerMedia's HBO Max European launch event, which also featured a surprise trailer.

‘House of the Dragon’ is one of several ‘Game of Throne’s spinoffs under development. As previously reported, one project in the works would focus on ‘The Sea Snake’, who HBO describes as "Westeros' most famous maritime adventurer." Another spin-off, starring Naomi Watts and scripted by Jane Goldman, was cancelled after the pilot stage.

 

 

King Viserys Targaryen is played by Paddy Considine, Prince Daemon Targaryen is played by Matt Smith, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen is played by Emma D'Arcy, and Alicent Hightower is played by Olivia Cooke. Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, and Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole are among the cast members who were not shot.
