Joey King, the female lead, revealed when 'The Kissing Booth 3' will release as she collected her award at People's Choice Awards
'The Kissing Booth 2' shined at the People's Choice Awards. The movie won Comedy Movie of 2020, while the female lead of the film, Joey King, bagged Comedy Movie Star of 2020.
While giving her speech, Joey shared an exciting piece of information with her fans. She revealed when 'The Kissing Booth 3' would release on Netflix. She revealed that it would be summer 2021 release.
Joey held on to the thrilling news till the end of her speech. She then spilled, "I told myself that if I won, I would share a very exciting piece of news with everybody, so… I want to tell you that Kissing Booth 3, our final installment, is going to be released in summer 2021!"
Her first reaction on winning the award was, "I’m so excited, this is so exciting! Oh my god!"
She then went on to add some humour and state, "When I got nominated, I never thought that I would win because I’m nominated against such incredible people, but I did, so, HA! No, I’m just kidding."
Joey also mentioned, "I really want to thank all the people that voted, you guys. It’s so awesome that you guys voted for me." She thanked the director of the film Vince Marcello and the broadcasting network Netflix.
King then stated, "This year has been so weird, I’m not going to be the first person to say that tonight on this stage, but the fact that our movie and my character brought some laughter to everybody at home, that makes me smile. That makes me feel so good. That makes me feel so happy."
Interestingly, the book 'The Kissing Booth 3: One Last Time' is also slated for 2021 release. The author of the series, Beth Reekles, announced the same back on September 11. Vince, who is helming the film, is also the scriptwriter for the book.
