The wait is over! First ever Captain Marvel trailer is here and it is everything you wanted and then some.

After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, every Marvel Studios fan was waiting for Captain Marvel to turn up and save the day because according to Nick Fury, she was the last line of defence against the menace that is Thanos.

The brand new trailer released on Monday evening, a perfect remedy to conclude the first day of the week if you ask the little nerd in me (she knows the pain that went into covering Emmys at Indian Standard Time).

This 1.56-minute-long trailer introduces you to Captain Marvel, played by Oscar-winner Brie Larson, who has very little idea of what her life was as a US Air Force Pilot Carol Danvers. This Captain Marvel meets SHIELD Agent Nick Fury, aka digitally de-aged Samuel L Jackson. Fury realises that with Captain Marvel's powers he can protect the Earth in many ways than one (The Avengers Initiative is now taking form in his genius brain).

We get to see what Captain Marvel is made of from the moment she crash-lands into a Blockbuster video store to when she fights alien invaders, the Skrulls, who become a threat to this little blue planet. Between these shots, we are introduced to Jude Law's Mar-Vell, a renegade soldier side of Carol Danvers. We also get a glimpse of Ronan the Accuser and Agent Phil Coulson -- making their comeback in this story unfolding in the 90s.

One detail the fans of the revamped Captain Marvel books will love is the helmet she is wearing underwater. The Mo-Hawk lives, people. It lives!

Marvel Studios released the trailer in four languages for India. Check them out.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, Annette Benning, and Clark Gregg.

Captain Marvel will fly into Indian theatres in March 2019
