For the longest time, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and Scarlett Johansson have talked about making a stand-alone movie about the life of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. But in a different turn of events, another female superhero movie - Captain Marvel (2019) - got the green light.

The news follows the release of the trailer for Jennifer Lawrence's movie titled Red Sparrow which actually resembles what the Black Widow origin story would have been.

No other details about the project have emerged. But no harm in feeling happy for Black Widow fandom.
