Avika Gor became a household with her character Anandi from ‘Balika Vadhu’. She then went on to work in ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ but was typecast as the ‘girl-next-door’ for several years. In 2013 she made her debut with the lead role in 2013 film ‘Uyyala Jampala’. One of the most talked about things about the actor in recent times was her physical transformation, for which she gives credit to her boyfriend, Milind Chandwani.

While speaking to ETimes, Avika said, “Milind and I met through common friends in Hyderabad and we’ve been dating for over two years now. For my physical, mental and emotional transformation, a lot of credit must go to Milind because he helped me grow and helped me understand a lot of things about myself.

Milind Chandwani is a Hyderabad based activist and was also a contestant on ‘MTV Roadies Real Heroes’ in 2019. Avika added, “The bond that the two of us share is a very special one. I’m blessed to have found love during these grim times.’

The actor, who has become a popular face in the South industry has four Tollywood films in her kitty. She will be seen in Vikram Kumar’s ‘Thank You’ starring Naga Chaitanya and Raashi Khanna.  She also ‘Amaran’ and untitled projects with opposite Kalyaan Dhev and Naveen Chandra in the pipeline.

Talking about her projects, Avika said, “I have a range of exciting projects in the pipeline and I think this is the most exciting phase of my career. The transformation that I went through wasn’t just a physical one. It was a mental and emotional transformation too. My confidence shot up and my skin started glowing. This is reflecting in my work as well.”

However, staying in shape during the pandemic was challenge for the 24-year-old. She said, "Since I’m spending more time at home, I’ve been working out a lot more. At one point, my director told me, ‘Avika, please don’t lose any more weight, we need you to stay just the way you are’. Every year, I donate hair on my birthday but I couldn’t cut my hair this time because I had to stay in a certain look. So that continuity is challenging.”

She added, “I’m now looking forward to my releases on screen and I can’t wait to see how the audience will respond to the ‘transformed’ Avika, not just looks wise but performance-wise as well.”
