A number of celeb couples in the west have pulled the plug on their relationship this year
The year is still three-odd months shy of ending but it’s already been a rough time for Hollywood couples. A number of relationships have gone kaput, the latest one being Adele officially filing for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki, though they announced their separation in April this year. All the splits, needless to say, have come as shockers. While youngsters Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s break- up turned out to be dramatic, there have also been dignified ones like Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx. Here’s a look at the stars who have called off their relationships or marriages recently.
1. ADELE-SIMON KONECKI

The Someone Like You hit-maker officially filed for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki last weekend, in California, where the duo has had a home since 2016, the year they married. The couple in a statement said that they want to raise their son Angelo, who was born in 2012, together lovingly. The British singer and Grammy Award winner and Simon began dating in 2011 and married in a secret ceremony five years later, confirming the marriage in 2017.
2. LIAM HEMSWORTH AND MILEY CYRUS

It started as a ‘will they, won’t they’ situation when Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’s families urged the couple to reconsider their separation barely eight months after getting hitched in December 2018. The Hunger Games star reportedly filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences, but it soon came to light that Miley’s closeness to blogger Kaitlynn Carter was the reason. Miley and Liam had been in a relationship off and on for more than a decade. Their marriage is said to have gone kaput due to cheating and trust issues. The two ladies have been indulging in PDA and twinning every now and again since then.

The Academy-Award winner Jamie Foxx brought the curtains down on his six-year relationship with Katie Holmes. The couple began dating in 2013 and reportedly broke up earlier this month. The lovebirds hid the romance for many years but appeared to confirm their relationship in May this year, at the Met Gala. According to reports, Katie, who was earlier married to Tom Cruise, was not happy with Jamie allegedly being in a relationship with Sela Vave, a rumour the Django Unchained star and the singer have both denied.

In June, Bradley Copper broke up with super model Irina Shayk after being together for four years. It is being speculated that Bradley’s closeness with Lady Gaga, who was his co-star in the A Star Is Born, has played a part in Irina terminating her relationship. Bradley and the Born This Way hitmaker’s chemistry was for everyone to witness as they performed together on Shallow at the Grammy Awards this year.

Kim Kardashian West’s stepsister, Kendall Jenner enjoys a massive fan following on social media. Unlike her family, the supermodel tries to keep her personal life private. Kendall began dating Australian NBA player Ben Simmons in 2018 and there were a few videos and photos of Bendall canoodling at the sportsman’s birthday and cosying up in the background in Kim’s July 4 Instagram video post. The duo confirmed therelationship but refused to divulge details. After reportedly sharing a home together in Hollywood, they called things off in May 2019 when the relationship ran its course. Kendall was said to be ‘in fun mode’ post that. The latest buzz is she’s with Los Angeles Lakers’ basketball champ Kyle Kuzma.

Last but not least, American television and radio host Larry King split from his seventh wife. Yes, you read it right! The 85-year-old former CNN host has filed for divorce from Shawn Southwick King, 59, after being married for 22 years. The request for parting ways cites irreconcilable differences as the reason. Knowing Larry and his love for living life to the fullest and marriages, few would bet against him tying the knot for the eighth time!
