Being part of an ensemble cast versus you as a single character holding the film on your own. What does that mean to you or how does that play into your life as an actor?I’m definitely not holding this movie solely. It’s supported by such a strong cast of people and even though the movie is called Spider-Man there’s so many arcs in the movie that people will get to enjoy other than Peter Parker’s and I think it’s a really interesting dynamic to see Tony Stark suddenly become a certain father figure to someone and to see a different Flash Thompson that we’ve never seen. To see Marisa Tomei portray, I think the most modern version of what a mother is these days, and it’s a really interesting dynamic and way of portraying these characters and I think it’s going to be very fun for people to see different sides of the characters that they know and love so well.

And you’ve got your sidekick? Jacob. Love Jacob.

How was that having a little sidekick to you in this film? That was really great and cool for Marvel you know because I often find it was difficult for Peter to share with people about what he is and what he does you know. And the worst person you would want to tell is a fan of Spider-Man and Ned is a huge fan of Spider-Man so when he finds out all he is doing is bugging Peter with questions and he wants to know this and that which they touch on in the trailer very briefly and it’s just a really funny friendship. It blossoms throughout the movie and becomes stronger and Peter kind of learns to rely on Ned and he learns to rely on Peter.

Tell us about the tiny spider drone. What was working with that like?So the Spidey drone wasn’t actually a thing. It was always a CG thing so I was supposed to stare at tennis balls flying around. But the cool thing about this Spidey drone is that it’s gone through so many different incarnations of what it’s going to be, what it’ll look like, how it will function. I think even now they are still debating on what it is it can do. When we were shooting we came up with five very distinct things that it’s used for and I think the audiences will be really pleased with the relationship between Peter and his little drone.

Being a Spider-Man fan, do you have a favourite Spider-Man villain? I think Dr Octopus is my favourite, I just think he’s so cool. I’m really into the clone saga which I think is a very cool strip. I like Mysterio; I think Mysterio could be super cool. There are loads of different versions. It’s just impossible to name one and I like Carnage though. Carnage would be dope.

Are there any Indian references or anything that we should know about? Oh yeah, there is. There is a big scene in India right, in this Spider movie. But I can’t tell you what it is... It’s actually really funny.

But you didn’t really come to India for it, right? I didn’t, no. But it was... I’m not going to say anything more but it’s a really cool scene.
