POUND, a new workout trend, done with modified drumsticks is taking over Los Angeles in the United States by storm. It's a workout where you have to slam around with a pair of 'Ripstix', which are double the weight of drumsticks, while doing the moves from cardio training, pilates, conditioning and strength training etc to loud music.

This new workout was started by Los Angeles-based fitness enthusiasts and recreational drummers Kirsten Potenza and Cristina Perenboom.

The workout is unique as unlike other dance-based workouts like Zumba or aerobics, this one has less footwork.

With no jumping or dancing, the workout is more of a jam session where you get to scream out as you burn those pounds away.  As per reports, the workout is attracting the young and old alike and is spreading like fire in LA.

POUND, for us, is Dandiya minus the dance, plus the squats, lunges and crunches!

Same same but different. No?
