India is reeling under a fresh surge of COVID-19 cases and with 1 lakh cases recorded in a day, the situation has become alarming. Experts are of the belief that this time the virus is showing different symptoms. The second wave of coronavirus is spreading at a rapid scale, infecting even healthier people. 

Earlier, the symptoms of novel coronavirus were fever, dry cough, and tiredness. However, this time around doctors are witnessing uncommon symptoms, which can be called new COVID-19 symptoms. Several studies have suggested that pink eyes, gastronomical conditions, and hearing impairment are the new symptoms and it should not be taken lightly.

New COVID-19 symptoms

According to doctors in Gujarat, 40% of COVID-19 patients visited them with a complaint of diarrhea, body pain, stomach pain, and vomiting. 

A study done in China has revealed that pink eye or conjunctivitis is a sign of COVID-19 infection. People can develop redness, swelling and the eye becomes watery. 12 people who got infected with a new strain showed this symptom.

If you have observed ringing sound or some kind of hearing impairment in the recent past, then that could be a sign of COVID-19. A study published in the International Journal of Audiology said that the COVID-19 infection can lead to auditory problems. 

The researchers found 56 studies that identified an association between COVID-19 and auditory and vestibular problems. They pooled data from 24 of the studies to estimate that the prevalence of hearing loss was 7.6%.

As per doctors, many gastrointestinal complaints are also coming in. A new study says that diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, nausea, and pain are signs of coronavirus. If you are facing any digestive discomfort, you must get yourself tested.

COVID-19 cases in India

India detected 115,736 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the highest daily increase so far. 

Nearly 55,000 cases were reported in Maharashtra, while Chhattisgarh scaled a new peak of 9,921 cases.

Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi reported more than 5,000 cases each.
