The agitation of 2,700 doctors became stronger on Monday as 700-odd doctors of the AMC-run hospitals in the city joined their fight against the state government. They held a day-long token strike on Monday to show their support to the agitating teachers. The medical teachers, along with doctors of AMC-run hospitals, had organised various activities in hospitals of the city.

Secretary of Gujarat Medical Teachers' Association (GMTA), Dr JC Makwana informed DNA that a satyanarayan katha was organised at LG hospital for the betterment of all.

"A rally was also taken out from VS Hospital to inform everyone of our plight," added Makwana.

While the doctors of AMC-run hospitals will resume their duties on Tuesday, the striking medical teachers are planning more events. On Tuesday, the medical teachers will conduct a tree plantation programme on the campus of BJ medical college in the city.

Talking more about it, Dr Makwana stated that around 150 saplings will be planted on the campus of the college and future course of action will be decided later on.
