They can visit other fully vaccinated people indoors without wearing masks or staying 6 feet apart, according to the guidelines issued on Monday.

The CDC defines people who are fully vaccinated as those who are two weeks after receiving the last required dose of vaccine.

"There are some activities that fully vaccinated people can begin to resume now in their own homes. Everyone, even those who are vaccinated, should continue with all mitigation strategies when in public settings," said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.

"As the science evolves and more people get vaccinated, we will continue to provide more guidance to help fully vaccinated people safely resume more activities," she said.

Fully vaccinated people can visit unvaccinated people from one other household indoors without wearing masks or staying 6 feet apart if everyone in the other household is at low risk for severe disease, said CDC.

The recommendations also say that vaccinated people can come together in the same way in a single household with people considered at low-risk for severe diseases, such as in the case of vaccinated grandparents visiting healthy children and grandchildren.

They don’t need to quarantine and stay away from others after contact with someone who has Covid-19. However, the CDC has suggested people living in a group setting like a correctional facility or group home to stay away from others and get tested after contact with someone with the infection.

Fully vaccinated people should continue wearing a mask, stay at least 6 feet apart, and practice other social distancing measures when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households.

They should continue to avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings and delay domestic and international travel. If they do travel, they should follow health department travel requirements and recommendations.
