While focus of the PUBG Mobile ban remained only on India, they were not the only country to ban one of the most popular games in the world.

The game, which was recently banned in India under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, has a huge fan base across the world.

The multiplayer game was also banned in many  other countries due to very many reasons but PUBG Mobile resolved the issues, fought back and made a comeback in many of those countries. However, they haven't been successful in India yet and the Corporation is working hard on providing the Indian users with the game again.

Not just in India, the game has been banned in various other countries like China, Pakistan, Nepal and Korea.

It may come as a surprise for many, since the game has been developed by a Chinese entity, Tencent Games. But PUBG Mobile was once banned in China due to amount of bloodshed in gore in the game. Due to which, the company had to launch a separate version - 'Game for Peace'. The game had almost all the features intact compared to the global version, apart from the bloodshed.

If the character is killed, instead of red, green shots would be seen and instead of him lying in a pool of blood, they would bid goodbye and fly off.

In Pakistan, it as banned due to health concerns. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had first banned the game after it received complaints of the game being too addictive and hac=ving severe health effects on children. But later it was revoked due to several petitions against the ban.

Similarly to India, Korea to banned the game because of security reasons. But, it was later restored after the company set up separate servers for the country and provided some country-specific changes related to maps, features, etc.

The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) also banned the game earlier this year after a PIL was filed to ban the game. The game was un-banned soon after, when multiple petitions were filed.

Relaunch in India

PUBG Mobile is still awaiting the Government approval for its relaunch after it was banned due to privacy concerns.

Since the ban, the company has broken its ties with Tencent Games and launch PUBG Mobile India. They have also registered a subsidiary and have been working on investment in a homegrown application.
