Battlegrounds Mobile India vs PUBG Mobile India: What's new, what's not

The early access of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BMI), which is deemed by many as desi version of PUBG Mobile India, has attracted millions of PUBG Mobile Indian lovers in India, It is to be noted that Battlegrounds Mobile India is still in the testing phase but it has already registered over 5 million downloads in less than 48 hours. 

Battlegrounds Mobile India developer Krafton has introduced several changes in gameplay as well as back end operations of the much-hyped title in order to escape any tough action by the Indian government.

Changes in gameplay

Before the Indian government decided to ban PUBG Mobile India in September 2020, several parents used to complain that PUBG Mobile India was affecting their children because it portrayed a lot of violence. While the new game has retained of PUBG Mobile India, Battlegrounds Mobile India has made significant changes to terminology and visuals as well, including the colour when a player is hit. 

It may be recalled in PUBG Mobile India, the default colour was red which looked like blood splatter. But in Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton has used green colour in place of red and it also shows feathers instead of splatter-like animation. The new version also has changed the term “kills" to “finishes" in order to tell the number of players defeated by a player.

Gameplay management system

PUBG Mobile India limited hours spent by a player while playing the hugely popular game, but Battlegrounds Mobile India will provide more frequent reminders to the gamer to limit screen time. 

Battlegrounds Mobile India server

The default server set for majority of Battlegrounds Mobile India will continue to be India but the players will need to choose different servers from the settings page. 

Battlegrounds Mobile India - Overall gaming experience

Battleground Mobile India's gaming experience broadly remains similar to PUBG Mobile India. But the catch is that Indian players will not be able to partake in global e-sports events of PUBG Mobile. The gamers will also need to confirm their geographical location while setting up an account. It is expected that Krafton may introduce new changes to Battlegrounds Mobile India before the final release.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is available for pre-registration on the Google Play Store for Beta Testers. According to the Google Play description, players will be able to opt-out of the Beta testing and download the public version once it is available.

PUBG Mobile Battlegrounds Mobile India Beta version Download link:

Step 1: Install the ‘Tap Tap’ app & open this link to access the BGMI Beta Download Page.

Step 2: Download the game (702MB) and enable “Install from Unknown Sources” if asked.

Step 3: Open the game, allow necessary permissions & select your preferred ‘Resource Pack (HD/Non-HD)

Step 4: Open successful download of all game files, you’ll be asked to restart the game, please comply.

Step 5: Open the game and Log In using Facebook, Twitter or other Platforms available.

Step 6: Players will be asked to create a new account. Please create an account to proceed to the main lobby.

Step 7: Later, you’ll be asked to transfer your Old Data from your previous account. Login to your old account using Facebook, Twitter & allow the transfer. Your previous achievements & inventory will reflect in the new version in a while.

Krafton has updated its fans about releasing game for iOS users. The Pre-Registration of Battlegrounds Mobile India is not available for iOS users right now. On asking about when the iOS version will be released, Krafton replied – “We will keep our fans informed on further developments. New updates will be released on our official website and social networks, so please stay tuned for further news!”
