Cyberpunk 2077 is a game which had plenty of appeal. This game was planned and conceptualized by college dropouts in Poland and they went on build one of Europe’s biggest gaming studios. So much so that many fellow Poles tried to emulate them but with no success. In the words of Hiroshi Sakakibara, Environment City Coordinator at CD Projekt Red which oversees Cyberpunk 2077 as one of the games, stated that Cyberpunk 2077 has a combination of retro and futuristic aspects. Cyberpunk 2077’s director Adam Badowski repeatedly stated that the game is an environment filled with things that look futuristic is not cyberpunk, but simply science fiction. According to one gaming site, the quests of Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the idea that every quest, big and small, needs a "twist," preferably several of themFor the last couple of years, this game has been on the forefront when it comes to the action genre. However, now they are in serious trouble.

According to a report in Bloomberg, CD Projekt SA’s Cyberpunk 2077 game has been plagued by technical glitches and this has resulted in a loss of USD one billion off the wealth of the company’s founders. The serious fallout of this situation is that the quality-first image of the studio has been shaken, and may not be easy to win back.

What are the issues?

The problems of Cyberpunk 2077 are in older-generation consoles like Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One with reports indicating the game’s engine isn’t working smoothly on weaker machines. IGN, which is a popular games website, had a scathing criticism of Cyberpunk 2077 stating that it is better to not play the game at all rather than wasting time trying to fix it on the console.

The developers have faced several challenges in the game which has been delayed a number of times since it was originally slated to come out in April this year. Gamers who have been waiting eight years to play it are not impressed. Unfortunately, a version of the game for next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series S/X consoles isn’t expected until next year.

The fall of Cyberpunk 2077 does not bode well for CD Projekt and their team and they will have to pull off all the stops if they have to get back their trust back.
