FULL - TIME Brazil have failed to score for the first time in a game in the group stage in the World Cup since 1978, and Mexico will be extremely happy with the 0-0 result. The goalkeeper Ochoa in particular was the hero for Mexico tonight.

Brazil play Mexico next in the 16th match of the FIFA World Cup 2014. The match begins at 12:30 am IST.
The match between Brazil and Mexico will surely be the one to watch. The last time these two teams met each other in a major tournament, it was the 2012 Olympics final, where Brazil lost 2-1 to Mexico. It was disappointing for Brazil as the Olympic football tournament is the only international competition in football organized by FIFA that Brazil has never won. Being the hosts of the FIFA World Cup, Brazil are expected to lift their record 6th FIFA World Cup in front of the home crowd. They have already beaten Croatia 3-1 in a match where the only game credited to Croatia was an own goal by Brazil's Marcelo. For the entire team profile, click here
Once the giant of the CONCACAF zone, Mexico had to settle for fourth place in the final group of six and squeezed into the World Cup finals through the play offs. They proceeded to smash New Zealand out of the way 5-1 in Wellington and 4-2 at home under the guidance of a new coach, Miguel "Piojo" (the flea) Herrera, their fourth coach of the qualifying campaign. Herrera went into the play off building his side around players he knew well such as veteran defender Rafael Marquez. Mexico earned a facile 1-0 win over Cameroon in their first match, and will be looking to at least draw against Brazil to keep up their chances of reaching the Round of 16.
