The third phase of the vaccination drive has started in India on May 1, 2021, for people above 18 years of age. As per the government rules, one has to book a slot at their preferred vaccination centre on the COWIN Platform that the government has provided by registering one's name, age, photo-ID details. It is this booking slot that is proving to be the tricky part.

Booking an appointment for COVID-19 vaccination has become a challenge with a major gap between the demand and supply of the vaccines. This has made it tough for those aged between 18-45 years to get a vaccination slot.

Appointments for both free and paid vaccinations on the dedicated CoWIN portal and the Aarogya Setu application are hard to secure. However, technology is playing a vital role with a few simple tricks and tips to help people book an appointment for COVID-19 vaccination.

Tips and tricks to book vaccine slot

Register your mobile number and required details first on the CoWIN portal. This will make the entire vaccination process much easier. All you need to do is, enter your 10-digit mobile number in a given space, enter OTP and it's done.

It should be noted that vaccine slots are not added to the CoWIN portal all day long. It is said that vaccine slots are usually added between 6 PM and 11 PM every day. So, you must check at that time specifically.

While checking for slots, always ensure to log in with your registered phone number and then check for slots. This will make it easier and faster for you to book your vaccination appointment.

There are two ways to find a vaccine centre with slots available in CoWIN portal - one by entering the PIN code and the second by entering the state and district. However, it is always better to search for a vaccine centre with a PIN code.

To get regular updates on vaccine slots, you must keep refreshing the CoWIN website. Once you refresh the portal will again ask you to enter the details such as PIN code, state, and district.

How to register for COVID-19 vaccine online

Go to the CoWIN portal and click on Register/Sign in Yourself option.
