How many "study shows" have you come across various social media platforms over the past week? And exactly how bizarre were they?

The past few years have seen this trend - whenever any information is released online, it starts with the two brusque words "study shows", which magically makes the "study" believable and serious!

What John Oliver did, or rather the way he did what he did - expel and ridicule baseless studies and point out how unscientific they actually are, is a sight to behold.

He practically picked each of those studies and broke down how such claims are made, in spite of them being loosely based on what "science" stands for.

This results in misinformation and furthers distortion of the same, giving the audience of the information a skewed perspective of what the truth really is.

John Oliver, in all his charisma, keeps instilling the belief that we have indeed reached the time when we start taking comedians seriously - once again!
