Megamind is an engaging offshoot of the current 3D craze in Hollywood. It has everything that you expect from such a film — delectable content, hi-tech visualisation, sophisticated editing, and solid sound effects.

Megamind (given voice by Ferrell) is an alien sent to Earth by his parents when he was just eight days old, just as Metro Man (Pitt) is sent away by his.

While Megamind is nurtured by criminals in a jail, Metro Man grows up in a family which imbibes good values in him. As an adult, Megamind stands for evil and is branded a villain by the residents of Metro City; Metro Man becomes the hero and saviour.

Envious of his adversary’s popularity, Megamind plots to kill him. He even believes he has succeeded in his plans. Meanwhile, he falls for a sassy reporter called Roxanne (Tina Fey) and begins to court her. But in the absence of the good, his evil mind becomes restless and out of work, which is when he creates Titan (Hill) with a speck of Metro Man’s DNA in the hope that he would now fight the ‘good’ Titan.

But all his plans fall apart as Titan turns into a villain himself because he also desires Roxanne who seems to be charmed by Megamind. So Megamind is now the hero.

As Titan goes on a destructive spree throughout the city, Megamind and Roxanne discover that Metro Man is alive and had faked his death to live a simple life. In the end, predictably, good triumphs over evil, Megamind destroys Titan and also gets the girl.

From the very beginning, Megamind fascinates you owing to the enthralling nature of its story and screenplay. Throughout the film, you can't wait to know what’s coming next. Besides, the dialogues are hilarious and keep you in splits.

The voiceovers reflect the emotions perfectly. Admirable overhead views of high-rise buildings, technology-based war between the characters, and an uncomplicated storyline are some of the other factors that make this film stand out.

Megamind is the right movie for the weekend over some popcorn. Grab those 3D glasses if you are looking for some light-hearted entertainment.
