The main reason for this film to have garnered interest from the audience is probably its name. After all, it does sound like Yogaraj Bhat, Sandalwood’s current topmost director.

The film, which is directed by his one time aide Dayal Padmanabhan (they worked together in Gaalipata), had no connection to the director at all.

The film’s protagonist is named Yogaraj and that’s where the similarities begin and end.

The film is about an astrologer Yogaraj, who runs into a NGO worker, Sihi, an orphan, who’s grown up entirely at the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur.

The cluesless newbie from the small town (who drives a car and knows everything about email and computers but has never watched a movie in a theatre ever!) is smitten by the man she meets, who charms her in all the possible ways she could imagine.

Just when you think all is well, Yogaraj dies in an accident. The film takes a twist when he convinces ‘God’ to send him back to earth.

And there’s the indigestible plot that follows through.

The film has some good performances from lead actors Naveen and Neettoo.

But, sadly, the script doesn’t back the performances. Tharun Sudhir too has an interesting role.

The dialogues in the second half suddenly turn from modern day Kannada to lines from a mythological play.

Hearing Suchendra Prasad, who plays God, saying ‘asthu’ to Naveen’s wishes is a little hard to handle.

While the cinematography and dialogues in the rest of the film are quite good, the climax and the end ensure you’ve died many deaths in the hall.
