Deepika Padukone's family bonds over Ganesha

After the success of her last film Cocktail, actor Deepika Padukone hasn’t had enough time to enjoy her success or relax. The actor has been shooting back-to-back for her films. So much so that for the past few months she had no time even for her parents. But the actor recently made the most of the festive season during Ganesh Chaturthi.

A source close to her reveals, “Deepika has been extremely busy lately. She has been juggling three films — Ram Leela with actor Ranveer Singh, Race 2 with Saif Ali Khan, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani with Ranbir Kapoor and Chennai Express. She was thinking of taking some time off to spend  quality time with her family as it has been a while since she met them.”

She found a solution to that by calling her parents from Bengaluru to Mumbai, so that she could spend some time with them, post her shooting. The source further adds, “Deepika’s parents believe a lot in Ganapati and love the way the festival is celebrated on such a large scale here in Mumbai. They were visiting various pandals to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha. They couldn’t have asked for anything more; they simply loved the whole festive spirit. Deepika is also happy that her mother and father are around and that she can spend every day with them thanks to Lord Ganesha.”

On Thursday night, Deepika also dropped by at ex-boyfriend-turned good friend Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday party and had a great time there.
