We catch up with the pretty superstar and are wonderfully pleased to hear that she’s still around — just that she’s on a long, self-imposed sabbatical. “No, I definitely haven’t stopped acting (laughs)… in fact, I am now shooting for quite a few Telugu projects, it’s just that my Kannada and Tamil outings have been reduced for a bit,” she tells us.

Sadaa was last seen in Aarakshaka and though the film didn’t have the hoped for box-office turn out in Karnataka, the actress is still keen on Sandalwood. “Sandalwood has been kind to me, but I am just looking for more interesting scripts these days,” she adds.

Her just completed, not-yet-named film opposite actor Shivaji in Telugu sees Sadaa for the first time in a horror-thriller flick. “It’s a female-oriented story-line and that excited me quite a bit; plus, it’s a thriller — so, why not? My next few projects in Telugu will also be equally interesting, I promise,” she enthuses.

So what is she doing with her life in this long sabbatical? “You won’t believe me when I say that I have become quite the master chef. Watching a lot of food channels at home, I tried to experiment with cooking and I love it,” she exclaims.

“I try a new dish every day and surprisingly it comes out quite well,” she adds. So is this preparation for marriage we ask, “No way! Marriage isn’t even on the cards… I just like cooking… so much so… you should try my chhole bhature; it’s a favourite in the family now,” Sadaa concludes, as we seriously consider the trip to Mumbai for some ‘Sadaa brand’ chhole bhature.
