Would you share an honest picture?

Being in the business where looking good can make or break your career, it takes a lot to risk it all and go out there sharing unfiltered pictures/glimpses of your everyday life. In November last year, London-based model and blogger Stina Sanders did that when she agreed to be a part of an experiment to see how people would react to her posing ‘honest’ pictures on social media reflecting her everyday life. For the next week, followers visiting her Instagram page had to look at pictures of unwashed hair, chipped toenails, facial hair bleaching and Sanders’ pre-colonic irrigation. As more unfiltered and real images increased, the followers began to dwindle and 5,000 left by the end of the experiment. When her story came out, her follower count jumped to near 130,000. While the reaction from some corners was negative, many praised her for demonstrating how the ‘perfection’ perpetuated by influencers is simply a front. She continues to leave honest pictures interspersed with polished images more typical of Instagram. While Stina took the extreme route posting and sharing her most honest pictures, celebs back home, too, have not shied away from sharing their own pictures sans make-up. Here’s looking at some of Bollywood’s leading ladies at their deglam best.
