It is music which can act as one of the most powerful weapon that one can think of in the present times to spread awareness about International Day of Peace. The second edition of 'Peace One Day'--India Chapter --is a two-day music-packed event organized in the national capital to spread the message of peace through music.
"We are good at getting music together and the idea was if through this and through the UN sanctioned support even if it can be a one or two day celebration of peace, may be we can make a change," said Arnav Singhal from Eventwala, the organizers of the event.
The programme, which is spread over the weekend, witnessed featured artists from different parts of the world, including Vibe Tribe from Israel, Bionix from France, Slytrance from Australia and Arjun a.k.a Virus from New Delhi and a few other artists all of whom played the electronic dance music on day one.
"I try to make positive music, my friends here also try to make positive music, to bring up the good vibes from the people, make them happy and spread out the good energy and go out with positive talks, this is our way to donate a little bit to peace," Vibe Tribe, a musician from Israel told ANI here when asked about how music can help spread the message of peace.
New-Delhi based musician Arjun a.k.a Virus said, "If we put a language to peace, if we put a method to peace if we put a system to attaining peace it will never happen. Music is one language that can really get happiness and according to me if you are happy is when you are at peace."
Today as the world observes World Peace Day, Indian American musician Karsh Kale will be performing live at Lodhi-The Garden Restaurant, here in the national capital. As the world does its bit for World Peace Day, India makes its contribution to promote peace, spread happiness and make an impact for a better today and a peaceful tomorrow.
September 21 is observed as International Day of Peace since 1981 after the United Nations' General Assembly (UNGA) passed a resolution to that effect.
Founded in 1999 by British filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, "Peace One Day" is a non-profit organization with the vision to institutionalize International Day of Peace and an aim establish an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence.
After a unanimous adoption by the UNGA member states in 2001, September 21 also began to be observed as the day of 'global ceasefire and non-violence'. Besides India, the "Peace One Day" concert will also be held across various cities in the world with 5-Time Grammy-nominated recording artist Akon performing live at the Goma International Airport.
