Mirzya is set to benefit in a big way from the Shivaay versus Ae Dil Hai Mushkil clash on October 28. That’s because the film (Mirzya) arrives on October 7. Now, that’s a fantastic date for the film since after this, the next Bollywood releases are Shivaay and ADHM. This gives the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film a free run of three weeks and that too in the festive season,” informs our trade source.

In an industry, where around four films try to scrape their way through every Friday, it is unheard of for one to have as many as two Fridays pass by without any notable film arriving.

An insider adds, “Considering the fact that Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar expressed their desire to arrive on Diwali long ago, no other filmmaker chose to arrive before or after it. Any other film would have been sandwiched between Mirzya and Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. They would either not have got a good number of screens to begin with or would have lost out on practically all of them in a two-week duration.”

Since there are 5,000-odd prominent screens in the country that play new Bollywood releases, all eyes would be on Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, post-Diwali.

“As a result, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyyami Kher will be pretty much enjoying an uninterrupted run right from Dusshehra to Diwali as there won’t be any competition in sight,” the trade source continues, “It couldn’t have been a better situation for the newcomers.”
