The biggest South Indian film till date will definitely be SS Rajamouli's Baahubali that released last year and turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2016. The film opened to a whopping Rs 50 crore on Day 1 worldwide, a record that is still unbeaten. Will Kabali cross the 50 crore mark on Friday?

The advance bookings have been record breaking for the film and it won't be surprising if it did. But it will definitely be a difficult feat to achieve. Plus, Baahubali, being a war film had a larger audience base. Then again, you don't underestimate the power of Thalaiva, right!

Kabali releases worldwide on Friday and by Saturday morning, it will be clear whether Kabali has broken Baahubali's year-long record or not. Also, Baahubali is the only South flick to have raked in over Rs 600 crore at the worldwide BO. It also needs to be seen if Kabali is able to thump Baahubali's lifetime collections as well.
