His dates clashed with Vikramaditya Motwane’s film
Harshvardhan Kapoor has opted out of Sriram Raghavan’s edgy, dark comedy-thriller. The untitled film is about a musician who fakes being blind and also stars Tabu.
Says a source, “Sriram was keen to cast Harsh for his film and he was to start it after the Mirzya actor completed shooting for Vikramaditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi. But in between Motwane’s shoot, Sriram wanted to shoot a 10-day schedule for his own film as he was getting restless. But as all dates were with Motwane and Harsh had committed to them earlier, the actor could not do it.”
Next, Sriram came up with the idea of Harsh doing a workshop for the film, while shooting for Motwane. That was impossible as Harsh was concentrating on the character in Motwane’s film where he plays a vigilante. Also, Motwane’s film has lots of action in it and during the workshops, Harsh was learning a special type of taekwondo called Makgic Burat. Says the source, “It wasn’t possible for Harsh to be in character for one film and do workshops in the middle of it for another — that too for a film that is extremely challenging.”
He tried to do a few workshops but it didn’t work out. Harsh could have given dates to Sriram only next year. Finally, Sriram could not wait any more and met Harsh’s father Anil Kapoor to discuss the date dilemma. As no solution was in sight, Harsh decided to bow out from the film. Sriram asked them if they were fine with him approaching someone else and they gave him the go ahead. Now, Sriram is hunting for another hero so he can start his film early next year.”
