Why Ekta and Shobha Kapoor’s names don’t feature on the Great Grand Masti posters...
Drop it, said their pandit!
Ekta Kapoor and her mom Shobha Kapoor are the co-producers of Great Grand Masti but while their production house Alt Entertainment is there on the Great Grand Masti's posters, Ekta and Shobha's name are missing. The names of other co-producers' names -- Ashok Thakeria, Indra Kumar and Sri Adhikari Brothers and Anand Pandit feature prominently.
This was done keeping in mind that the film will benefit. Ekta is extremely superstitious. From numerology to Tarot, astrology and gemology there is nothing the producer doesn't explore. So when her pandit told her to remove her and her mother Shobha Kapoor's name as co-producers from the posters, naturally Ekta complied.
Says an insider, "When Ekta and Shobha signed the movie, they realised that it was rahu kaal. Their Pandit suggested that to ensure that the movie is a success at the box-office, Ekta or Shobha's names should be avoided.” Meanwhile another source insists, "Ekta's mom doesn't like a girl's name being associated with sex comedies, which would also be the reason for the omission."
Fact remains Ekta and her mom were first co-producers to come on board. Then came the rest. Now one has to see how correct the pandit's reading is!
