Actor fiance Imran Khan sticks to designer Varun Bahl, while she opts for Manish Malhotra and Shantanu-Nikhil.
Actor Imran Khan will usher in the wedding season in Tinseltown as he ties the knot with his fiancee Avantika Malik on January 8, 2011.
Slated to be a quiet and private affair, it will apparently be a court wedding as both belong to different religions.
Among the many aspects of the wedding under wraps, what remains unknown till now are the details on the wedding trousseau.
It is now learned that there will be more than one designer working on the trousseau.
Designer Varun Bahl, who had designed Avantika’s engagement outfit, will once again feature prominently in the wedding preparation too. He’s designing Imran’s wedding outfit. The bride, Avantika, on the other hand, will don one of the two lehengas made by designer Manish Malhotra and her trousseau is by designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra.
Says Varun, “I am doing Imran’s wedding outfit and am happy about it as I had also done his engagement garb. I have tried to give him what he wanted.”
Designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil say, “We are doing a red gown for Avantika, it will be for the main ceremony. Besides that we are also doing her trousseau which will include some interesting party wear skirts, tops and a few dresses. It is something that she can wear to all other functions that follow the wedding.”
