Raima Sen was to make a biopic on her celebrated grandmother, late actress Suchitra Sen and had approached Vidya Balan, who turned down the film. Now, while the idea of the biopic is on hold, a biography on the career of the legendary actress may be in the offing. Talking about it Raima says, “If ever it was to be written, I guess my mother would write it. There have been many talks on her biography and biopic. I was supposed to do a film on her which didn’t work out due to various reasons — budget, dates etc. My grandmother was a very private person and I guess we haven’t written about her because we want to keep her life private as she wanted. A biography based on her professional career is fine, but not her private life.”

But she doesn’t have an author in mind. She says, “Someone who knows my grandmother’s history and career graph could write it — maybe someone from Kolkata. I can’t write it because I would get too emotional and a biography has to be looked at objectively, which would be like a tribute.”
