What’s actually happening between Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerji?

The two actresses, Vidya Balan and Rani Mukerji are air-kissing relentlessly in public. But if sources are to be believed then a particular publicist is insisting that Vidya is getting a raw deal from Rani at promotional events.

“This particular publicist calls up journalist and insists that Vidya is getting a raw deal in the film. She insists that Vidya won’t talk about it but she has the full support of Vidya on this,” says a source.

The publicist might be lying because the next day when scribes get in touch with Vidya, she again goes on record saying that Rani and she are in fact “good friends.”

“Vidya might be upset. Rani definitely has got a more powerful role because she plays a journalist who is an extrovert and in-your-face while Vidya plays the victim’s sister who is very reserved and is soft-spoken. Now that’s the character sketch that was discussed with her over and over and over again. Vidya is also aware of other actors’ character sketches in the film. It’s impossibile that Rani’s role in the film would come to her as a surprise at such a later stage,” says a source.

Those who know Vidya say that she is not the kind of a person who would go and subvertly plant stories against her fellow co-actors. So who is this mystery publicist who is going against Rani and planting stories against her?

“The disadvantage with Rani is that she doesn’t have a proper publicist for herself and Vidya is too dignified a person to engage in this kind of  mud-slinging behaviour. She has always been upfront about everything till date. So obviously, whoever is doing this has not taken Vidya’s approval because otherwise she would have spoken about it in the open,” the source adds.
