The video packs an emotional punch and is full of British pride. Sam Smith adds a special touch by shooting the song on similar locations of the dramatic scenes from the movie.

Beautifully intercut scenes go with the flow of the lyrics of 'Writing's on the Wall.' There is the grieving widow (Monica Bellucci), there is the searching daughter (Lea Seydoux) and there is the villain (Christoph Waltz).

The song reveals the new footage from Spectre. But apart from that, you can see some serious acting chops by Sam Smith. The man looks effortless and determined standing in front of caskets wrapped in Union Jack. The shot is a stark reminder of the scene with Dame Judi Dench in Skyfall. Then he also shades a tear giving the personal touch and an image to the crooning just like his songs from his album 'In The Lonely Hour'

The video has been released on the eve 53rd anniversary of first Bond movie Dr No. Quite a sentimental move, movie makers!
