Actress Sunny Leone and four of her team members had to face a difficult time while flying from Latur to Mumbai on Wednesday after the 5-seater turbo prop aircraft in which they were travelling faced turbulence due to bad weather. The pilot, anticipating that he would need extra fuel, decided to divert the flight to Aurangabad for refuelling.
However, as the weather did not improve later and since Juhu airport doesn’t have night-landing facility, Leone and team had to take the road journey ahead.
The aircraft was operated by Surat-based Kiaan Aviation Ltd. The airline officials could not be contacted for comments. DGCA officials claimed to have no knowledge about the case.
The incident comes days after, a helicopter carrying state CM Devendra Fadnavis crash landed, moment after taking off in Latur. The pilot of the aircraft blamed sudden fall in air pressure which forced him to land. But high tensions wire got entangled the aircraft, leading to the accident. DGCA has launched an investigation into the case.
